What do you need to start a business?

General regulations

Request the Taxpayer Identification Number at AFIP (Argentine Internal Revenue Agency). The registration of trademarks with the National Institute of Patents and Trademarks is optional. Legal entities shall register with the public registries of each jurisdiction.

Travel agencies

They are governed by National Law of Travel Agents No. 18,829, and the enforcement authority is the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. Learn about the requirements for establishing a travel agency.

Accommodation, gastronomy and tourism providers

The provinces and municipalities have their own regulations for the establishment and/or authorization as well as the operation. Accommodation establishments are governed by provincial regulations, while gastronomic establishments are governed by municipal regulations.

Transport

The National Transport Regulatory Commission (CNRT in Spanish) is the regulatory authority.

Financing

Different credit lines are offered with beneficial conditions for working capital, production investments and new businesses.

System of Tourism Quality (SACT in Spanish)

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports offers tools, seals, guidelines and training aimed at increasing the competitiveness of public and private tourism organizations in the country.

The SACT (System of Tourism Quality) promotes the implementation of quality standards based on social, economic, cultural and environmental sustainability. More than 3,000 organizations were distinguished and/or certified by the SACT. More than 130 cities have implemented the Sustainable Tourism Municipalities program.

Statistics and markets

The Argentine Tourist Information System (SINTA in Spanish) shows research, data and reports related to the tourism sector and its main variables: domestic and international tourists, accommodation and hotel occupancy, air and land connectivity, tourist activity and employment.
